In this episode of YAAAS BRO, Jonathan is joined by former co-worker, Javi, who celebrates 7 years sober, but reveals it was a long journey before getting to where he is today. Javi shares his struggles with substance use, mental health, coming to terms with his sexuality, how he was able to overcome it all and become a beacon of hope for others with similar struggles. In between all this, we also discuss the trauma of growing up not understanding what "gay" is, the "shameful" things we did as little gay boys, how men are expected to not show emotion, the many types of virginity (because there's more than one), being a retail gay, and so much more.
